Specializing in computing, with a strong focus on data logging and GPS integration for high-altitude balloon projects. Led a team of 10 developers in the successful development of computing systems for the SFU Aerospace High Altitude Balloon project, ensuring redundancy and reliability in data collection.

Key Accomplishments:
  • Orchestrated the Computing team's efforts in accessing and logging flight data, and retrieving GPS information for the SFU Aerospace High Altitude Balloon project.
  • Implemented two independent computing systems to guarantee operational continuity, employing an Arduino Mega for sensor data and an Arduino Uno for GPS and communications.
  • Contributed to the overall success of the project by ensuring seamless integration between the Computing team's systems and other subsystems, such as Communications, Payload, Power, and Structure.
Team Leadership - Computing:
  • Oversaw the development of software systems responsible for data logging from sensors and transmitting GPS information to the communications module.
  • Managed potential system failures by employing redundancy, allowing at least half of the computing system to function in case of a component failure.
  • Ensured smooth collaboration with other teams by facilitating effective communication and integration of the Computing team's solutions into the overall project architecture.
Overall Impact:
  • Under my leadership, the Computing team played a crucial role in the SFU Aerospace High Altitude Balloon project's success, contributing to the achievement of project goals and demonstrating a commitment to excellence in software engineering for high-altitude missions.
